According to reports, a bride-to-be recently posted a message on Facebook asking for advice from netizens on what she should do because she won’t be able to provide food for her guests. The Facebook post found it way into a Reddit group titled r/weddingshaming. It was on Reddit that the message went viral.

Her confusion, stress and sadness grew because she had already sent invites to friends and family. For that reason, it would be odd to cancel such preparations. Therefore, she turned to social media to seek help, and the reactions to her question were shocking.
Instead of trolling or critizing her, most netizens sympathized with her. In fact, they recognized some rationality in her assertions. They agreed with her decision to choose the scenario in which guests forego giving her presents in favor of paying for their meals.
