Amer Al-alwi, the UAE Ambassador to Ghana, has dismissed reports that Ghana and other African countries has been restricted with a visa ban by the United Arab Emirates to visiting Dubai among others.
On Monday, DW Africa reported that the UAE had declared a visa ban for citizens of 20 African nations including Ghanaians planning to travel to Dubai.
It was reported by the German news source that the ban will go into effect immediately and will affect countries such as: Ghana, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Cameroon, Nigeria, Liberia, Burundi, Republic of Guinea, Gambia, Togo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Senegal, Benin, Ivory Coast, Congo, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, Comoros, and Uganda.
In a recent interview, Amer Al-alwi has disregarded all reports that stated Ghanaians have been banned as mere rumors.
He added that there is no Official Statement from his Government so the daily routine goes on. So far as the his Government has not issued an official statement, there is no need to regard such rumors about a ban which is not recognized, he explained.
A video has also popped up on the internet detailing that the said ban on Ghanaians and other African Countries who travel to Dubai or the UAE is not true.
