An NSMQ 2022 winner has bagged a a big one as he gets a full scholarship from Academic City.
Mr. Austin Afutu, of Presbyterian Boys Secondary School, Legon, was a member of the 2022 National Science and Maths Quiz winning team and has received and gladly accepted a full scholarship from Academic City University College. The Scholarship is worth $40,000.
Students who excel academically, as well as show great leadership ability and an entrepreneurial drive, are awarded the $40,000 Presidential Scholarship Award from Academic City. Only the most outstanding and worthy student will be chosen to receive this prestigious grant.
Mr. Afutu plans to attend Academic City in Accra, Ghana, where he can pursue a BSc in Biomedical Engineering over the course of four years.
The scholarship will pay for the student’s education as well as provide them with a place to live, food, a laptop, a monthly stipend, and a means of travel to and from their home/hometown (twice a year).
Teachers at PRESEC said that Mr. Afutu is a very bright student who helped the school win the National Championship for the seventh time.
Academic City’s Director of Admissions, Ms. Shannan Akosua Magee, awarded the scholarship and spoke about the university’s dedication to rewarding students for their efforts.
As the NSMQ 2022 winner gets full scholarship from Academic City, Mr. Afutu thanked Academic City for the scholarship and stated that he would work hard to do the school proud.
