The NPP’s Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, MP for Assin North, has criticized his own government over the recent gold-for-oil deal.
The deal allows the country to receive oil from other countries after giving them gold. Although some citizens found the deal strange, the government went ahead with it. Some gold has been allegedly sent, and the oils have been received.
The Parliamentarian is running for the New Patriotic Party’s Flagbearer ahead of the 2024 General elections. He has begun to criticize some of the current government’s policies.

In a recent interview, he called the gold-for-oil deal foolish. He is baffled by the fact that the party, which claims to have competent individuals, would remain silent on a policy that doesn’t make sense.
According to Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, the party believes he won’t speak out because he wants to become President. However, he insists that he will speak his mind more often when he sees something wrong happening, as remaining silent is not an option.
