Court orders Anas Aremeyaw Anas to appear in court without mask

Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has been ordered by the Supreme Court to appear in court without his mask

Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has been ordered by the Supreme Court to appear in court without his mask and face Kwesi Nyantakyi.

This news in particular has raised eyebrows and a lot of people are curious to see what happens next with this development in the news.

The Story

On Tuesday morning, the Supreme Court issued a ruling ordering the investigative journalist to testify in court against the former president of Ghana Football Association without wearing his signature mask.

The Supreme Court’s decision comes after an Accra High Court’s decision to allow Anas Aremeyaw Anas to testify in camera was overturned.

On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, the court headed over by Justice Baffoe-Bonnie ruled that the High Court’s order giving Anas the exceptional privilege was unjustified or lacked legal foundation.

The court ordered Anas Aremeyaw Anas to appear in open court without mask.

The criminal case Republic v. Kwesi Nyantakyi & Others will feature the famous journalist as a prosecution witness.

This comes after his undercover operation, codenamed “Number 12,” exposed former Ghana Football Association president Nyantakyi for accepting bribes. Take note that VIP has increased Accra-Kumasi fares to GHC 120.
