Joining the Ghana Navy (Entry level) force means fulfilling the standards and qualifications stipulated by the force. These requirements are meant to ensure that prospective officers possess the knowledge, physical attributes, and moral qualities required for military duty. In order for prospective navy officers to join the team and support the defense and security of the country, it is imperative that they fulfill the requirements below.
Ghana Navy Entry Roles And Eligibility Criteria:
1. Executive Branch
In addition to the general eligibility criteria, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower in any of the following from a recognised university/institution:
- Nautical Science
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Geography (Candidate should have done Elective Science at the Senior High School).
- Statistics
- Geology (Candidate should have done Elective Science at the Senior High School)
- Computer Engineering
- Aerospace Engineering
- Computer Science
- Oceanography
- Geomatic Engineering
- Geodetic Engineering
- Hydrography
2. Technical Branch
In addition to the general requirements, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower in any of the following from a recognised university/institution:
- Marine Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Marine Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Agricultural Engineering (Mechanization)
- Material Engineering
- Naval Architecture
- Civil Engineering
3. Supply Branch
Candidates must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower in any of the following from a recognised university or equivalent professional institution in any of the following:
- BSc Administration (Accounting/Marketing/Banking & Finance)
- BA Administration (Accounting/Marketing /Banking & Finance).
- Business Administration
- Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- Procurement and Supply Chain Management
- BTech Procurement and Supply Chain Management
- Logistics and Transport Management
- Logistics
- Economics
- Commerce
- Accounting
- Finance
- Purchasing and Supply
NB: Preference will be given to applicants with additional certificates in the following:
- Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) – Level 5.
- Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Final Part.

- Management Studies
- Arts or Social Sciences
NB: Preference will be given to applicants with additional certificate in Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administration (ICSA) – Final Part.
