To join the Ghana Air Force, prospects must satisfy certain requirements and qualifications. The purpose of these criteria is to ensure that individuals who wish to join the the force possess the necessary abilities, physical fitness, and character characteristics. Therefore, aspiring Air Force officers must meet the criteria.
Air force – Ghana Branches And Requirements
1. Air Branch
For this branch you must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognised university/institution.
- Pilot
- Commercial/Airline Transport Pilot License
- Physics
- Mathematics
- Chemistry
- Statistics
- Computer Science (Must have read Science courses at the Senior High School level)
- Geography (Candidate should have done Elective Science at the Senior High School)
- Air Traffic Control Operations
- Aerodrome/Approach Control License
- Physics
- Mathematics
- Chemistry
- Geography (Candidate should have done Elective Science at the Senior High School)
- Statistics
- Computer Science (Must have read Science courses at the Senior High School level)
2. Administration Branch
Applicants are expected to have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognised university or equivalent professional institution in any of the following:
- BS in Business Administration (Human Resource Management option)
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
- Bechelor of Commerce (Management option)
- BS Human Resource Management.
- BSc Management
- Institute of chartered Secretaries and Administration (ICSA) – Final Part

3. Engineering Branch (Regular Commission)
You should have a First Degree from a recognized university or equivalent professional institution. The degree should not be below Second Class Lower. The following fields are accepted:

- Acrospace Engineering

- Agricultural Engineering
- Avionics
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronic Engineering
- Computer Engineering
4. Supply Branch:
A First Degree in any of the following fields, not less than Second Class Lower, from an accredited university or an equivalent professional institution is required of applicants:
- Administration (Finance, Accounting, Marketing and Procurement)
- Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) – Final Part
- Chartered Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain Management (CILT) – Final Part.
