How To Pass A Civil Service Aptitude Examination
Even though taking practice test like the ones above can enhance your chances of passing the assessment, there are other things you need to do in order to always be on top of your game. If you strictly follow the tips below, you will stand a higher chance of succeeding.
- Familiarize yourself with the different types of logical reasoning questions commonly asked such as, deductive reasoning, logical puzzles, syllogisms etc
- Avoid jumping into conclusions without sufficient evidence (ie. when right after reading a question)
- Pay particular attention to every detail in a question and all possible answers. Often the correct answer hinges on a small but important detail
- Don’t get stuck on one difficult question; move and revisit it later if you still have time
- Logical reasoning questions can be especially challenging but you have to stay calm and focused. Panicking will affect your thinking ability and possibly force you to choose the wrong answers
- During your practice/mock sessions, analyse your mistakes and learn them. Understanding why you were wrong will surely prevent you from repeating the same mistakes
- It is also very important to stay up-to-date with current affairs and general knowledge. Sometimes, questions may include elements from recent events/developments
