Polytanks Ghana Ltd is offering career opportunities to experienced professionals for two managerial positions at its Spintex, Accra operations. The openings are for an Accounts Manager and an EHS Manager – Plant.
Both positions require several years of relevant professional experience, with specific technical and industry requirements outlined below.
1. Accounts Manager
Department: Accounts
Reports to: Deputy CFO, Manufacturing Group
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing financial statements and management reports.
- Managing the general ledger and accounting records.
- Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Managing payroll and related statutory payments.
- Handling tax and social security obligations.
- Managing inventory accounting and valuation.
- Supporting cash management, bank reconciliations and cash-flow activities.
- Performing other accounting and finance duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- A Master’s degree and professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA or ICAG are advantageous.
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Orion or Tally.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and financial modelling experience.
- Knowledge of Ghanaian tax laws, IFRS and manufacturing cost accounting.
- Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High levels of integrity and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
2. EHS Manager – Plant
Department: EHS
Reports to: EHS Senior Country Manager
The EHS Manager will lead environmental, health and safety activities at the plant, ensuring compliance with applicable local and international EHS standards while helping reduce workplace risks and strengthen the organisation’s safety culture.
Key Functions:
- Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct EHS audits, inspections and workplace assessments.
- Investigate incidents and lead root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Implement and maintain EHS policies, procedures and programmes.
- Manage industrial hygiene, waste management and emergency response activities.
- Conduct risk assessments and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA).
- Implement and monitor Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Develop EHS data models, KPI dashboards and regular reports.
- Monitor near misses, hazards, incidents, risks and controls.
- Provide safety training and coach employees and frontline leaders.
- Support the EHS agenda, spending, budgeting and CAPEX planning.
- Assist with resource and manpower planning.
- Coordinate EHS activities and workflows across departments.
- Promote continuous improvement and strengthen the plant’s overall safety performance.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in EHS, a science-related field or a related discipline.
- 5–7 years of relevant EHS experience.
- Hands-on experience working with manufacturing machinery.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and NEBOSH.
- Experience preparing daily/monthly EHS reports, maintaining records and developing KPI dashboards.
- Experience using SAP or another relevant operating system.
- Experience with EHS management software such as GenSuite is an advantage.
- Data analysis skills and knowledge of Lean principles such as Kaizen.
- Strong knowledge of workplace risk identification, assessment and control.
- Ability to monitor and manage near misses, hazards, incidents, risks and controls on a daily basis.
- Strong communication, leadership and coaching skills.
