McJones Energy is actively seeking a reliable Junior Finance Officer to join their accomplished team for their national service. The selected candidate will be entrusted with various duties by management, including supporting our finance team in various financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities.

Accountability:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, presentations, and dashboards for management, highlighting key financial metrics and performance indicators.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting by gathering data, preparing models, and analyzing financial trends.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and marketing, to gather financial data and insights.
  • Support with the preparation of audit files after energy audits, and help prepare supporting documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial or business reports of projects.
  • Assist in the preparation and update of financial statements for projects.
  • Developing the overall Financial Strategy of the Company in consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Assist team during proposal budget preparation and help with setting up budgets within the Company’s finance systems.
  • Prepare balance sheets and track payments.
  • Keeping proper and timely accounting records throughout the Company, in line with all statutory and professional requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essentials:

  • A relevant accounting qualification; a degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work quickly, effectively and productively under pressure, prioritize and address multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to update skills as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management.
  • Strong command of MS Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Experience using an ERP software package is an added advantage.
  • Commitment to the production of quality work.
  • High standards of personal and professional integrity.
  • High-level analytical skills, demonstrable evidence of competence and leadership, and resolute position on ethics and professional integrity.
  • Business acumen to generate or attract new business through strategic development efforts.
  • The ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Leadership and management skills to help with career progression
