The Nairobi branch of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has raised a red flag to warn the public. This is about an individual who is allegedly impersonating a High Court Advocate. Per reports, he has preyed on numerous unsuspecting clients.
This impersonator, Brian Mwenda, has never set foot in a law classroom. He has appeared in court and shockingly, claimed victory in numerous cases.
In light of this disturbing revelation, the LSK Nairobi branch is urgently appealing to the public to provide any information regarding individuals posing as legal professionals.
Brian Mwenda, the imposter lawyer, remarkably managed to secure wins in 26 cases before High Court Judges, Magistrates, and Supreme Court of Appeal Judges, all while lacking the necessary legal qualifications.
The Law Society asserts that he falsely represented himself as a licensed High Court Advocate. Whilst doing so, he has no legitimate authorization to practice law in the country.
This case has stirred varied opinions. Some argue that Mwenda might be a self-taught legal practitioner deserving a chance to take bar exams. Conversely, there are concerns that he might continue to argue cases in court, possibly emerging victorious.
