The Nairobi branch of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has warned the public. This is about someone who is impersonating a High Court counsel. Per reports, he has preyed on a number of unsuspecting clients.
This impersonator, Brian Mwenda, has never set foot in a law classroom. He appeared in court severally and won in countless cases.
In light of this, the LSK Nairobi branch is urgently appealing to the public to assist with any information regarding those posing as legal professionals.
Brian Mwenda, the imposter lawyer, set a record by managing to secure wins in 26 cases before High Court Judges, Magistrates, and Supreme Court of Appeal Judges, all while lacking the necessary legal qualifications.
The Law Society confirms that he falsely represented himself as a licensed High Court lawyer. Whilst doing so, he has no legitimate authorization to practice law in the country.
This case has awakened varied opinions. Some defend that Mwenda might be a self-taught legal practitioner who deserves a chance to take bar exams. On the contrary, there are complains that he might continue to take cases in court, possibly winning all of them
