Diminutive Kumawood actor Yaw Dabo has argued that Cristiano Ronaldo is a better player than Lionel Messi.
Despite Lionel Messi’s remarkable feat of clinching the most coveted trophy in the world, Yaw Dabo believes it makes him no ‘goat’ over the Portuguese player, Ronaldo.
Many thought the debate on who is the ‘goat’ had settled when Lionel Messi and his Argentine team won the FIFA World Cup, but some Ronaldo fans are not ready to give in to it.
It is their stance that such notion is warped, and no way makes nothingness of their idol’s super achievements. To them, Ronaldo is way better than Messi!
In an interview with UTV, the actor asserted that even if Messi eventually won the World Cup, his perception on who is the GOAT will not change.
Virgil Van Dijk of the Netherlands and Nicolas Otamendi of Argentina both won the World Cup, but according to Yaw Dabo, that doesn’t make them better defenders.
According to him, everyone agrees that Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest player of all time, because he claims that a player is not automatically considered the GOAT just because they won the World Cup.
He went on to argue that the Argentine’s win was not a genuine win due to the numerous soft penalties awarded to the team in the World Cup tournament.
“Messi’s World Cup success was even marred by the several penalties Argentina earned on their way to winning the cup.”
Despite Messi having led Argentina to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022, Yaw Dabo, a Ghanaian actor and proprietor of a football academy, thinks Cristiano Ronaldo is still the better player ever.
