The Government of Canada’s scholarship scheme titled Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) program is now open for applications. Every year, this award is given to up to 166 students for a three year non-renewable term. This opportunity is for students who wish to pursue doctoral studies.
Eligibility Criteria:
- To be eligible, students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada or foreign citizens
- Eligible areas of research are as follows:
- Health research
- Natural sciences and/or engineering
- Social sciences and humanities
- Applicants must demonstrate excellent academic records
- Candidates must have great interest in research
- Additionally, you should demonstrate great leadership prowess or potential
- Ensure to gain admission into a doctoral course at a Canadian University
- You must be nominated by a Canadian Institution with a quota to host Vanier Scholars. (Note: All Canadian institutions are given a quota of students to be nominated for this scholarship).

Benefits:
- The value to be given to scholarship recipients is $50,000 per year for a three year duration during their doctoral studies
Additional Information:
- Candidates cannot apply directly for this scholarship, they are supposed to be nominated by the institution you wish to study in order to get the scholarship.
