Who is Bill Gates?
Bill Gates, born William Henry Gates III, is an American computer scientist, philanthropist, and businessman best known for co-founding Microsoft with Paul Allen. He attended Seattle’s exclusive Lakeside top school, where he developed an interest in computer technology.
He created the Microsoft Software Company with his buddy Paul Allen on April 4, 1975, while still a student at Harvard University. 1979
Microsoft began to expand in 1979, and Bill Gates chose to relocate his company to Seattle. Around 1980, he met with IBM executives and sold them the MS-DOS operating system; he still didn’t have it, so he bought it from a young programmer. IBM needed that operating system to compete with Apple, so he sold it to them.
Tim Paterson, who worked for Seattle Computer Products, eventually sold Microsoft the copyright to QDOS. Gates, aware of the value of Apple’s visual environment, paid them a visit to offer his assistance in improving their spreadsheets and other products, resulting in an Apple-Microsoft corporation.
Under Gates’ leadership, Microsoft was able to lawfully get the graphic and mouse environment technology and bring it to market for Microsoft Windows, as a direct competitor to the Macintosh.
