Branches And Qualifications For The Ghana Air Force Regular Officer Course
A. Operations
Have read General Science (Physics, Chemistry, Elective Mathematics and Biology/Geography/Agricultural Science) at the Senior High School level and have a Bachelor of Science Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University/Institution in any of the following:
- Pilot
- BSc Physics
- BSc Mathematics
- BSc Chemistry
- BSc Computer Science.
NB: Preference will be given to applicants with Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) in addition to any of the stated courses above.
- Air Traffic Control Operations
- BSc Physics
- BSc Mathematics
- BSc Chemistry
- BSc Geography.
- BSc Computer Science
- BSc Meteorology
NB: Preference will be given to applicants with Acrodrome/ Approach Control License in addition to any of the stated courses above.

B. Engineering Branch
Applicants should have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University or equivalent professional institution in any of the following:
- Mechanical
- BSc Acrospace Engineering.
- BSc Aeronautical Engineering
- BSc Mechanical Engineering.
- BSc Agricultural Engineering.
- Avionics
- BSc Electrical/ Electronic Engineering
- BSc Computer Engineering.
- BSc Acrospace Engineering.
C. Supply Branch
Hold a Bachelor’s Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University or equivalent professional institution in any of the following:
- BSc/BBA/BA/B Com Administration (Finance, Accounting, Marketing and Purchasing)
- BSc/BBA/BA Commerce
- BSc/BBA/BA Economics
- BSc/BBA/BA Logistics/Procurement and Supply Chain Management
NB: Preference will be given to applicants with professional certification from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or Chartered Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain Management (CISCM) in addition to any of the stated courses above.
D. Administration Branch
Have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University or equivalent professional institution in any of the following (1)
- BSc/BBA/BA Business Administration
- BA Arts or Social Science
- BSc/BBA/BA Business Management
- BSc/BBA/BA Public Administration
- BSc/BBA/BA Management Studies
- BSc/BBA/BA Human Resource Management.
NB: Preference will be given to applicants with professional certification from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators – (ICS4) or Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management (CIHRM) or Char tered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) in addition to any of the stated courses above.
E. Ordnance Corps
First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognised Institution in the following:
- BS/BBA/BA Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- BSc/BBA/BA Publishing Studies
- BSc/BBA/BA Chemistry/Blochemistry/Physice/ Chemical Engineering
- BSc/BBA/BA Procurement
- BSc/BBA/BA Fashion Design/Textiles
- BSc/BBA/BA Communication Design

F. Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps
- Electrical/Electronic Engineers Branch: Applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognised University/Institution in any of the following:
- BSc Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- BTech Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- BSc Biomedical Engineering

G. Education Corps
In addition to the general eligibility criteria, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognised University in the following:
- BA/BEd in French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese or German for interpretation/translation
- Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree in any discipline
- BA in Library and Archival studies
- BA in Education
H. Records
Have an undergraduate Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognised University/Institution in the following:
- BSc Information Technology (System Administration)
- BSc Statistics
- BA Information Studies.
I. Agricultural Extension Officers
Must have a first degree not below Second Class Lower from an accredited University/Institution in the following:
- BSc Agriculture
- BSc Agricultural Extension
- BSc Agricultural Education
- BSc Agricultural Economics/ Agronomy
- Bachelor of Horticulture
- Bachelor of Animal Science
- Bachelor of Soil Science
- Bachelor of Crop Science
J. Band
Applicants must have the following:
- BA/BEd in Music
- Appreciable knowledge in composition/orchestration/ conducting.
- Ability to play at least one musical instrument
- Ability to translate and transcribe music
K. Public Relations
Candidates must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from & recognised University in any of the following:
- Communication Studies
- Public Relations
- Journalism
- Fine Arts

- Communication Design

L. Pay Corps
You need to have a first degree not below Second Class Lower from an accredited University/ Institution in the following:
- BSc Administration (Banking and Finance/ Accounting Options
- BSc Accounting
- BSc Finance
- BCom (Bachelor of Commerce)
- BSc Accounting with Computing/ICT
- A fully qualified member of ACCA, ICA OR CIMA
- Applicants with qualifications in ICT in addition to any of the above will have an added advantage.
M. Catering Officers
Have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognised Institution in any of the following:
- Bachelor of Education (Home Economics)
- Bachelor of Hospitality Management
- Bachelor of Technology in Hospitality Management
- Bachelor of Catering and Hospitality in Education
