Evangelist Diana Asamoah believes God will make Bawumia President in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
During an interview on Hitz FM, she affirmed her continued support for the NPP and hinted at releasing a campaign song for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Speaking on the Day Break Hitz show, she declared her political allegiance straightforwardly, stating, “I am still supporting NPP, and very soon, I will even drop a campaign song for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.”
Responding to questions about Bawumia in the presidential race, Diana Asamoah showed optimism, saying that “everyday God does new things, so he will do it again.”
When asked if she would be disappointed if Bawumia didn’t win, she drew a parallel to Nana Addo’s previous losses, stating, “Nana Addo has contested and lost before, but I wasn’t disappointed and supported him till he won, so Dr. Bawumia will win in Jesus’ name.”
Defending her involvement in politics and support for the NPP, Asamoah differed that celebrities in other countries openly choose political sides.
Drawing a comparison to the United States, she questioned, “Looking at Obama, when he was running for president, all the celebrities supported him, so why can’t we celebrities in Ghana also choose who to support?”
She further stated that politics extends to all aspects of life, not just government affairs, including the church.
Quoting a biblical passage about the war in heaven, she explained, “When God made the devil in charge of all the singers in heaven, the devil wanted to take over power in heaven. That is politics.”
