Agri-Impact group is looking to recruit a new Procurement Officer. This position is a full time based contract.
Job Description:
Manage and oversee procurement activities on inclusive multi-partner consortium implementation of a 4-year “Harnessing Agricultural Productivity and Prosperity (HAPPY)” project that aims to increase agricultural productivity, value addition and create 320,000 jobs for youth and women along 4 agricultural value chain. He/She will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing of goods and services; ensuring compliance to procurement processes, regulations and policies; issuing request for proposals, quotations and invitations to tender.
Roles:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting market research and analysis to ensure the selection of reliable and cost-effective vendors.
- Review and analyse supplier proposals, negotiating terms and conditions, prices, and delivery schedules to obtain the best value for the organization.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement requirements and provide guidance on procurement procedures and policies.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.
- Conduct periodic supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans as necessary.
- Stay updated with market trends, new products, and technologies relevant to the organization’s procurement needs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies governing procurement activities.
- Participate in the development and implementation of procurement-related systems and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, including cost savings, supplier performance, and compliance.
- Manage the procurement process, including preparing and issuing requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotations (RFQs), and invitations to tender (ITTs).

Requirements:
- BSc./HND in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration; Professional Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (CIPS, CPSM, CSCP, CSCM, SCro)
- 5 years+ relevant work experience with sound knowledge of procurement principles, processes and best practices
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing procurement activities in agri-projects - Proven skills in using procurement software tools, and strong organizational and time management abilities
