The management of a University in Nigeria has  placed a ban on students who drive their own cars to school.

University Bans Driving of Expensive cars to campus. The administration of Nigeria’s Abia State University (ABSU) imposed an indefinite ban on students driving to school, ostensibly to reduce the richness and ostentation that intimidates academics.

The college issued a strong warning to students in a notice issued by the registrar, Acho Elendu, Ph.D., with the assistance of official organizations on campus, to stop showing off their money and parading cars on campus.

Any student who violates this guideline will face severe consequences, according to the statement.

“Management of Abi State University, Uturu has banned the use of personal vehicles by students and flagrant display of wealth on campus,

Henceforth, only staff and accredited visitors would be allowed to drive their vehicles into the campus.

Any student who violates this directive, which is in the interest of the University community, shall face severe disciplinary action.Please, be guided” The Management of Abi State University Stated in a statement dated February 1, 2022.

For whatever reason the school decided to make such a decision, some netizens have argued that this new development from the University is harsh. Others have also argued that they made such a decision due to reasons best known to them.
