A client, Wellington Mupfuti, received a fatally stab from Fungai, a 31-year-old night worker, and her boyfriend, Onesimo.
This occurred after Wellington refused to pay $5 upfront for Fungai’s services.
They met at a nightclub, where the two shared drinks. Wellington showed interest in intimate services, and Fungai quoted $5. The disagreement arose when Fungai insisted on a direct payment, which Wellington rejected.
The dispute turned physical, and the night worker, Fungai, allegedly stabbed Wellington, her client, in the forehead and shoulder with a knife from her bra.
Onesimo, the night worker, Fungai’s boyfriend, joined in upon arrival to stab the customer in the neck and back.
Fungai and Onesimo appeared before Chipinge magistrate Alfred Chinembiri. They were then remanded in custody until December 11. They also received a proposal to seek bail from the High Court.
The court proceedings will hopefully bring justice to the victim. It will also act as a prompt that reveals the consequences of resorting to violence in disagreements.
Social media users have totally condemned the horrendous act of homicide.
