Agreement on the Cost of Living Allowance (COLA)
Ignatius Baffuor Awuah, Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, announced at a press briefing on Thursday the following:
- The Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) will be paid by Government at a rate of 15% of base pay.
- That the effective date of the payment of COLA is 1st July 2022
- That all industrial actions underway and threats of same will be called off immediately and that Labour would return to work forthwith.
Background
This was the third meeting since the demand for COLA began between the government and labor unions.
