For the first time in over a decade, Lionel Messi is a free agent. While he is expected to remain with Barcelona, he has been offered a rather humorous contract by the worst team in the world.
Ibis, a football club based in Brazil’s offer to the Argentine player has gone viral on social media due to the fairly unusual and amusing terms that were included in the contract.
The duration of this offer deal is scheduled to be fifteen years. Additionally, Messi is required to swear that Pele is better than Diego Maradona, and the contract will be dissolved if he wins a championship with the club during that time period.
In the same contract, it was also requested that Lionel Messi refrain from using the No. 10 shirt, as that number is reserved for a player known as Mauro Shampoo.

About Ibis
The Pernambuco Football Federation counted Ibis as one of its founders when it first began. After a lengthy losing streak of going three years and 11 months without a victory (in the late 1970s and 1980s), the club earned a Guiness world record of being the “Worst Team in the World,” which led to the club’s notoriety. This reputation has been embraced by the club with a sense of humor and pride, and it is being used to promote the club.
