After 12 years of staying together, Shakira and her footballer partner Gerard Piqué have reportedly split up.
The couple has two boys, Milan and Sasha. They have two sons together after dating since 2010.
“We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we request respect for (our) privacy. Thank you for your understanding,” the couple reportedly said in a joint statement on Saturday.
The two first met 12 years ago, when the footballer appeared in Shakira’s music video for “Waka Waka,” the 2010 World Cup’s official song. On YouTube, the video has received over 3.1 billion views.
In recent times, there’s been news alleging the Barcelona center back cheats behind her Colombian Girlfriend, Shakira.
Shortly before the announcement, Pique was reportedly seen in his underwear with another woman.
Model Suzy Cortez, also known as Miss BumBum, alleged that the player asked her out during the heated trends of cheating allegations.
According to her, Pique sneaked into her DM and once asked for the dimensions of one of her body parts.
She said,
“He was the one who sent me -message- more direct. The only Barcelona players who never sent me anything were Messi and Coutinho. They are great husbands and they respect their wives a lot. Shakira didn’t deserve this.”
Pique was forced out of their family home when accusations of his adultery surfaced, and the couple, Shakira and Gerard Piqué had been living apart for a few weeks before the reported split up.
