The Social Media space has now become an everyday place for everyone in entertainment and almost all activities. Almost everyone in the world now is signed up with a social media app or has a phone which has a messaging feature.
So far as one has a mobile phone then that means once in a while, texting will take place. Because typing could be stressful and time wasting, people tend to use abbreviations(shorthands) when texting to make typing easier.
Although these abbreviations(slangs) have become a household activity, there are still people who are new to it or find it hard to understand.

When the person is not interested in the conversation anymore.

When the sender needs something urgent. It cuts both ways. And there are so many instances one can use this shorthand. It all comes to the urgency of the thing.
- LOL – Laugh Out Loud
It literally means the sender is laughing.
● LMAO – Laughing my ass out
Amplification of the LOL. When you want the receiver to know the thing they sent you is cracking you up hard.
● WYD – What you doing?
It questions what the receiver doing at the moment.
