O.R. Tambo Scholarships At KNUST

The O.R. Tambo Scholarships At KNUST is officially open for applications. This scholarship, formally referred to as O.R. Tambo Research Scholarships into Master’s Degree Programmes, is available for  Ghanaians and Africans studying master’s degree programs (MSc/MBA/MPhil) in KNUST.

Three categories make up the scholarship: fully funded, partially funded, and fee waiver. Based on their financial needs as evaluated by the award committee, applicants may receive any of the aforementioned scholarship packages.
 
The National Research Foundation of South Africa has provided funds to the O.R. Tambo Research Chair for Technology Entrepreneurship for the aforementioned scholarship.

Requirements:

  • The applicants are mandated to have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Social Sciences with honors in the upper division.
  • Applicants whose bachelor’s degree was not in English must have an above-average TOEFL or IELTS score in order to be considered 
  • To get financial aid for the Master’s program at KNUST, candidates must demonstrate financial needs
  • Ghanaian or African citizenship are eligible for this scholarship 
  • If you are non-Ghanaian you require students visa to legally study at KNUST.
  • Tou must be willing an available to students for the full course duration 
  • To be considered for this scholarship, it is obvious that you must complete as well as submit an Application
  • Fill out the economic needs assessment form, then submit it.

Scholarship Benefits: 

Fully Funded Scholarship 

  • Coverage of Tuition fees and other charges
  • You will receive a monthly stipend
  • Your hostel accommodation will be catered for
  • Scholarship recipient will recipient research grants (e.g., fieldwork, data analysis, etc.)
  • One round-trip airfare (only available for international (African) students).
  • Insurance for overseas travel (exclusively for students from Africa)

Partially Funded:

  • Coverage of Tuition fees and other charges
  • Free hostel accommodation
  • Students will receive Research grants (e.g., fieldwork, data analysis, etc.)
  • One round-trip flight ticket (international (African) students only)
  • Insurance for international travel (exclusive for international (African) students only)

Tuition Waiver Scholarship

  • Your Tuition fees and other charges will be catered for
  • Research grants will be provided for scholarship recipients (e.g., fieldwork, data analysis, etc.)

Documents Required:

  1. A Completed scholarship application form
  2. A Completed economic/ financial needs assessment form
  3. A two page (Maximum) Curriculum vitae (CV)
  4. Two reference letters
  5. English proficiency (This is exclusive for applicants whose degree was not offered in English)
  6. Official academic transcripts (bachelor degree)
  7. Certified copies of official bachelor degree certificate
  8. A maximum of one page letter of Motivatio. (Soft and hard copies) with the heading “O.R. Tambo Scholarship Award” outlining the following:
  • Why you want to research into entrepreneurship and employment problems
  • Why you think you are capable of researching entrepreneurship and employment problems
  • Why you need financial support to be able to successfully complete the Master’s degree programme
  • How your admission into this programme will fit into your professional vision
  • How your community stands to benefit after your training on this programme
  • You may also add other relevant information and/or experience you feel are necessary to support your application

Additional Information:

  • Applicants are advised to upload their supporting documents in a single zip file.
  • There must also be an official English translation for any supporting documents that are in French.
  • Applications that are ineligible, incomplete, or submitted late will not be processed.
  • Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for an interview session on a date and venue to be announced.
