International students who wish to enroll in East China Normal University’s undergraduate, graduate, or PhD programs can now apply for the ECNU Shanghai Government Scholarship.
The Shanghai government supports international students by offering them scholarships so they can follow their goals and benefit society without worrying about finances.

Qualification Criteria
To make sure you qualify for the Scholarship, review the eligibility requirements below:
- Students must not be Chinese nationals.
- Students who meet the requirements for this government award must be in good health.
- Students need to have a strong educational foundation.
- Students must be under 25 years of age and hold a high school diploma (WASSCE for west African students) to be eligible for the bachelor’s degree.
- A bachelor’s degree and being under 35 are requirements for students seeking a master’s degree.
- Students must be under 40 and hold a master’s degree to be eligible for the doctoral degree.
- If a student has previously received a scholarship from the Chinese government, they are not eligible.
