Who is Bill Gates? 

Bill Gates, born William Henry Gates III, is an American computer scientist, philanthropist, and businessman best known for co-founding Microsoft with Paul Allen. He was born in Seattle, Washington, on October 28, 1955, to William Henry Gates II and Mary Gates. He attended Seattle’s exclusive Lakeside top school, where he developed an interest in computer technology.

He created the Microsoft Software Company with his buddy Paul Allen on April 4, 1975, while still a student at Harvard University. He left the University a year later to relocate to Albuquerque, New Mexico, the headquarters of ITS (Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems), to agree on a session of 50% of the time with that company of the language for basic computers.

1979

Microsoft began to expand in 1979, and Bill Gates chose to relocate his company to Seattle. Around 1980, he met with IBM executives and sold them the MS-DOS operating system; he still didn’t have it, so he bought it from a young programmer. IBM needed that operating system to compete with Apple, so he sold it to them.

Tim Paterson, who worked for Seattle Computer Products, eventually sold Microsoft the copyright to QDOS. Gates, aware of the value of Apple’s visual environment, paid them a visit to offer his assistance in improving their spreadsheets and other products, resulting in an Apple-Microsoft corporation.

Under Gates’ leadership, Microsoft was able to lawfully get the graphic and mouse environment technology and bring it to market for Microsoft Windows, as a direct competitor to the Macintosh.

1992

1983

Bill Gates revolutionized personal computing once more in 1983, when he introduced the “mouse” and a new graphical interface to replace DOS (Windows). His pal Paul Allen departed Microsoft the same year owing to health issues. Bill Gates announced his desire to leave his daily duties as CEO of Microsoft to devote himself entirely to the foundation on June 16, 2006, and he departed from his position as CEO on June 27, 2008, handing over leadership of the company to Steve Ballmer. Gates allocates 70% of his time to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and 30% to the Microsoft Corporation.

Aside from being a computer expert, Gates and his wife founded the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle, Washington, in January 2000, when the Gates Foundation for Learning and the William Foundation merged. Gates’ father, William H. Gates, and Patty Stonesifer lead the charity.

The Prince of Asturias Award for International Cooperation was given to the Bill Gates Foundation in May 2006. The foundation created a $ 200 million campaign in India to promote AIDS prevention in 2004, making it the largest grant program in the country. Hollywood celebrities assisted in the promotion of the project. Microsoft, led by Gates, has 1,000 employees in the United States and employs numerous Indian engineers.
