In an effort to reduce the backlog of passport applications submitted by Ghanaians, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has implemented new procedures. These new procedures seeks to ensure Ghanaians get to acquire their passport under emergency circumstances.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration sent a statement to the press on August 17, 2023, saying that it was working around the clock to clear the backlog of passport applications and to “sanitise the passport application process.”
According to the statement, only applicants with urgent cases should contact the Ministry’s Client Service Unit via the following email address and numbers; they should include their full names, addresses, and transaction IDs in all correspondence.
