The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, sacks Charles Adu Boahen Following the Galamsey Expose by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
The president terminated the appointment of the Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance with immediate effect.
Details of Why Charles Adu Boahen got Sacked
Earlier today, Presidential Communications Director Eugene Arhin released a statement declaring termination and showing why Charles Adu Boahen’s got terminated from his position.
The statement read; “After being made aware of the allegations levelled against the Minister in the exposé, ‘Galamsey Economy’, the President spoke to Mr Adu Boahen, after which he took the decision to terminate his appointment, and also to refer the matter to the Special Prosecutor for further investigations.”
The President expressed his appreciation to Mr. Adu Boahen for the excellent work he has done for the country since his appointment in 2017 and wished him luck in all his future endeavors.

According to the documentary by undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia only requires a token appearance fee of $200,000 to meet with fictitious investors. This information was allegedly provided by Mr. Adu Boahen.
To acquire the Vice President’s support and influence while starting a firm in Ghana, the Minister reportedly indicated the investor would have to give contracts to the Vice President’s siblings.
Dr. Bawumia has however refuted all such claims leveled against him.
The Vice President had already called for Mr. Adu Boahen’s head in a Facebook post moments before he was fired.
