Aburi Girls Senior High School has been kicked out of NSMQ 2022 at Preliminary Stage. The kicking was done by Adu Gyamfi SHS and they eliminated Aburi Girls’ SHS from the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) preliminary round. This has prompted emotional outbursts from the schools’ students.
Despite the positive vibes, the all-girls school in the mountains of Aburi in the Eastern Region was unexpectedly kicked out of the competition on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
Adu Gyamfi SHS, widely considered the underdog, cruised to a 41-point victory in the final round of the competition held in the Kumapley auditorium of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Aburi Girls’ and Sefwi Wiawso SHSs scored 24 points and 10 points, respectively.

Right from the beginning of Tuesday’s contest, the Adu Gyamfi SHS kept a clean sheet with only a little chance to the Aburi Girls in the second round. Aburi Girls may have been kicked out anyway, however, judging from the NSMQ 2022 leaderboard, the could still come back into the competition.
Per the circumstances, are they totally out?
Aburi Girls’ chances of continuing in the competition may not be completely over, as they are among the top-scoring schools and therefore could be selected to join the one-eight round of the competition.
However, considering their score of 24, many people have doubts about this claim.
