“Woke up this morning and Vodafone are showing me shege Look what this people did to the boosu data. Herh Vodafone. Them tear the thing top,” a netizen reacted.
Trending on Elon Musk’s Twitter, or what many commonly refer to as the bird app, is one of Ghana’s leading telecommunications networks, Vodafone Ghana.
It seems netizens are peeved over what they imply as a sudden change and the u-turn of data services the network firm previously rendered to its customers.
According to subscribers of Vodafone Ghana, the latter has revised its data offers, one which was unexpected. This is virtually why Vodafone is trending in Ghana.
Vodafone boasts quite a large following of network subscribers after MTN Ghana. With MTN retaining the largest market share presently, about 18-22% of the Ghanaian populace are Vodafone users as of the second quarter of 2022.
Many people had switched from other telecommunication networks to Vodafone because of some of their special offers. A noteworthy offer that pulled quite a number from other networks to theirs was the ‘no charges’ on cash sent during the introduction of the infamous E-levy. Subsequently, people found out Vodafone had some cool data packages, hence doing business with them was cool.
How times change! A section of Ghanaians on Twitter is now forced to say, ‘it was nice to do business with Vodafone Ghana” because the “future is exciting”. Do you get the humor?
The sudden upward adjustments of the once-affordable data offers make “the future exciting” for subscribers.
They have thus advised themselves they would go back to their exes, that is their previous telecommunication networks.
One netizen lamented how unprofessional Vodafone’s approach to the upward revision of data offers was, as there were no prior notices to that effect.
Vodafone be one useless network 😠 how can you change your Data plan without sending a notice 😤

Fanning the flame more was one tweep who likened Vodafone to politicians. He admitted the network was worse than politicians.
Naaa I thought the politicians were the wicked ones but I guess I was wrong. Herh Vodafone 😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/PhKlDpHKTc

Vodafone have reduced their 5.5gb for 15ghc to 2.5gb for the same amount?? It was nice doing business with them😭😂

Vodafone could have added 50ps to the 3.50 so we buy it at 4 cedis for 1.5GB. We would have complained but to remove a whole 500mb from the 1.5Gb while still paying 3.50 wow
Just wow
And being someone who has always boasted about these special offers and bossu data I’m shocked –— Kwabena (@kobbbyyyyy) December 7, 2022
