The median monthly salary for a police officer is 3,090 GHS, which means that half of those employed as police officers earn less than 3,090 GHS and the other half earn more. The middle salary value is represented by the median.

A police officer with less than two years of experience can expect to earn around 1,490 GHS per month.

Someone with two to five years of experience can expect to earn 1,990 GHS per month, which is 34% more than someone with less than two years of experience.

Moving forward, someone with five to ten years of experience earns 2,950 GHS per month, which is 48 percent more than someone with two to five years of experience.

Furthermore, Police Officers with ten to fifteen years of experience receive a salary of 3,590 GHS per month, which is 22% more than someone with five to ten years of experience.

If you have fifteen to twenty years of experience, you can expect to earn 3,920 GHS per month, which is 9% more than someone with ten to fifteen years of experience.

Finally, employees with more than twenty years of professional experience earn 4,240 GHS per month, which is 8% more than those with fifteen to twenty years.

Education with Salary

A person with a Certificate or Diploma earns 2,670 GHS per month, which is 57 percent more than someone with a High School diploma.

A Bachelor’s Degree earns an average monthly salary of 4,480 GHS, which is 68 percent more than a Certificate or Diploma.

Ghana Police Service Annual Salary Increment

Every 21 months, police officers in Ghana are likely to see an increase of about 8% in their pay. Employees in all professions receive an average annual raise of 8% every 19 months in the United States.

Bonus

Due to the generally limited involvement in direct revenue generation, a Police Officer is considered a low bonus-based job, with exceptions. Those who receive the highest bonuses are usually involved in the revenue generation cycle in some way.

In the previous year, 71 percent of surveyed employees said they had received no bonuses or incentives, while 29 percent said they had received at least one monetary bonus.
