The role of a Sanitation Specialist is vacant at Melcom. This position is based at East Legon, Boundary Road.
Work Description:
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of the sanitation team to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards
- Create, Implement, and maintain sanitation procedures and schedules to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the facility.
- Provide training and guidance to sanitation staff on proper cleaning techniques, equipment usage, and safety practices.
- Perform regular inspections of facilities and equipment to access cleanliness and identify areas for improvement or corrective actions
- Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities including cleaning schedules, inspection results and any incident or violations, reporting findings to management as needed
Professional Credentials:
- SHS, WASSCE, Diploma, or HND in any related field
- Candidates should have 1 to 3 years of experience in sanitation, preferably in a supervisory role within a manufacturing food processing, or industrial environment.
- Conversant with OSHA and DA sanitation standards and regulations. Knowledge of safe chemical handling and cleaning procedures is also essential
- Have the capability to lead, train and motivate a team is vital. Effective communication skills are necessary to ensure that sanitation standards are understood and met by all team members.
- The ability to identify sanitation issues, implement corrective actions, and maintain organized records and schedules is important for this role.
- Capacity to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions for sanitation challenges, ensuring efficient and effective cleaning processes.
