‘We stand with Ukraine’, President Joe Biden declares support for Ukrainian during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
As Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky adopted a firm line on the restoration of all territory taken by Russian forces, US Vice President Joe Biden assured his counterpart that Kyiv will “never stand alone” on Wednesday.
According to Biden, the Western alliance supporting Ukraine will stay steadfast.
Biden declared, “I’m not at all concerned about maintaining the partnership. “I feel very good about solidarity and support for Ukraine.”
But he also made it clear that the allies of Ukraine will only agree to provide so much.
“Ukraine’s fight is part of something much bigger,” Biden said at a joint press conference with Zelensky by his side.
He pledged that the United States would lend its support against “Russian aggression” for “as long as it takes.”
Zelensky made it plain that he would not be coerced into agreeing to a deal that would leave Ukrainian territory in Russian hands, including any of the region Moscow says it has annexed.
“For me as a president, ‘just peace’ is no compromises as to the sovereignty, freedom and territorial integrity of my country; the payback for all the damages inflicted by Russian aggression.”
“We’re gonna give Ukraine what it needs to be able to defend itself to be able to succeed,” Biden added reiterating the ‘we stand with Ukraine’ ideals.
