Following the condom sponsorship at the Nacee concert, Minister Gyedu has called out the singer for this act, describing it as wrong.
Recently, the renowned gospel singer explained why his inaugural concert, Kavod, has a condom company as a sponsor.
In a Joy Prime interview, Nacee justified the sponsorship, stating it helps the company profit. He added that it will allow employees and employers to tithe in church.
Promoting the Kingdom of God is crucial, but money is necessary. Regardless of the business, God accepts tithes. “We need money to push the kingdom. We buy Bibles,” he emphasized.
When asked if condoms would be distributed at the event, he responded, “I’m sure the company will provide some giveaways.” Find out more about Nacee’s explanation here.
However, Minister Quame Gyedu later subtly criticized Nacee and other gospel musicians who use alcoholic and condom companies to sponsor their events. Speaking on Kessben TV’s Around Town Show, he argued that gospel artists shouldn’t always prioritize money.
Gyedu’s perspective suggests a tension within the gospel music community regarding the sources of sponsorship for events.
While financial support is acknowledged as essential for the promotion of religious activities, the choice of sponsors, especially those associated with certain products, raises questions about the alignment of values in gospel music.
This discourse highlights the broader conversation about the balance between financial needs and maintaining the integrity of gospel music.
It challenges artists to consider the implications of their sponsorship choices on the perception of their message and values.
