President Mamady Doumbouya, the Guinean military officer serving as interim president, has asked that the Guinean national team repay the funds for their AFCON expenditures although he has forgiven the team for not winning the AFCON.

It can be recalled that ahead of the AFCON 2021 Competition currently ongoing in Cameroon, President Mamady Doubouya gave a stern Warning to the Guinean National Team led by Liverpool Star Nabi Keita.
President Doumbouya tasked the team to win the cup or risk repaying every money invested in them. “The cup or you reimburse the money that’s been invested in you,” the Guinean President sternly warned the players, as quoted by African Insider.
The Syli Nationale were paired in Group B of the AFCON alongside Malawi, Senegal, and Zimbabwe. Guinea qualified to the next round of 16 but was surprisingly knocked out by Gambia.
Following this Knockout from the AFCON, they now have to suffer the fate of repaying they money spent on them during the AFCON but we are yet to know how they will do that.
Where other countries are gladly paying their players for loosing at group stages, the Guinean National Team have also been tasked for refund.
President has forgiven them however, he has asked them to return the money.
