Canadian Government Scholarships 2024/2025

The Canadian Government is giving out sponsorhips for a short-term exchange program meant to cater for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in partaking in a 4-month exchange program in Canada.

The award is designed to expand opportunities for Canadian post-secondary institutions to attract international students from various countries and territories.

Parameters:

Applicants must come from one of the following regions:
- Asia: Bangladesh, Nepal, Taiwan
- Europe: Türkiye, Ukraine
- Middle East and North Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia
- Sub-Saharan Africa: Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda
You qualify if you are enrolled in a post-secondary institution in an eligible country.
Candidates must be paying for their tuition fees to that institution at the time of application and for the entire duration of their exchange

Unqualification:

You are not qualified if you:

hold or have a pending application for Canadian citizenship or permanent residency
are currently enrolled in a scholarship programme supported by the Canadian government.
have already enrolled in a degree, diploma or certificate program at a Canadian post-secondary institution

Conditions:

You will participate in full time studies or research as directed by the Canadian institution (Your main focus should be the studies/research)
Students are to return to their home country after the exchange program is over
Avoid clinical training or clinically-oriented research involving direct patient-care
Scholarships cannot be deferred or renewed

NB: If these conditions are not met, the scholarship may be cancelled.

Perks:

The value of this scholarship is $10,200 – $10,700 (CAD). This amount could be used by the student to take care of the following:
- Visa or study/work permit
- Airfare
- Health insurance
- Accommodation and feeding
- Ground transportation
- books and other supplies required
