What Is the Next Recruiting Stage for GAF 2025/26 Recruitment – And When Candidates Will Be Called

Ghana Armed Forces Official Recruitment

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) is currently progressing through its 2025/2026 recruitment exercise that began few weeks ago, which aims to enlist new personnel into the Army, Navy, and Air Force as part of a broader effort to strengthen Ghana’s defence capabilities.

Overview of Recent Recruitment Phases

The recruitment exercise began with an online application process, followed by shortlisting, where qualified candidates who met all requirements were notified and invited to the next stages. The deadline for submission was extended to 7 November 2025 to allow more applicants to complete their forms after portal challenges.

The next major step was documentation and body selection, where shortlisted applicants were screened physically and had their documents verified at designated regional centres from 12 – 13 November 2025.

The next step that followed was the aptitude test/examination for candidates who successfully passed the documentation and body selection stage.

Candidates were instructed to report for the next phase of testing on Saturday, 29 November 2025 at examination centres indicated on their portals.

What’s the Next Stage?

After the aptitude test/examination, the next official recruiting stage announced by the Ghana Armed Forces is the Medical Examination phase for the first batch of selected candidates.

What the Medical Examination Involves

The medical examination stage is designed to ensure that candidates are physically and medically fit for service in the Army, Navy, or Air Force. It typically includes:

  • General health checks

  • Vision and hearing tests

  • Chest and cardiovascular examination

  • Musculoskeletal assessment
All candidates must be declared medically fit before proceeding to subsequent recruitment stages.

Official communication from the Ghana Armed Forces indicates that invitations for medical examinations are sent to candidates in batches — largely through SMS, email, and updates on the recruitment portal.

When the First Batch Begins Medicals

According to available recruitment updates, the first batch of candidates invited for the medical examination is scheduled to begin on:

THURSDAY, 18TH DECEMBER 2025

This date marks when the first group of successful applicants receive notifications and report to designated medical facilities to begin their medical screening.

It’s important to note that although this date is widely shared among applicants and local recruitment update sources, only official communication via the GAF recruitment portal or direct SMS from the Armed Forces is the authoritative confirmation.

What Happens After the Medical Examination?

Once a candidate is declared medically fit:

  1. Final Selection: Successful candidates are selected for enlistment.

  2. Induction & Training: Selected recruits begin military training.

The timeline from medical clearance to enlistment can vary depending on how quickly batches are processed.
