The University of Ghana Legon (UG) Undergraduate Admission Forms for the 2021/2022 academic year has been released. You will get all the details you need on the University of Ghana Legon undergraduate admission forms and application requirements on this page.

Applications are invited by the management of the University of Ghana for admission into undergraduate degree programs for the 2021/2022 academic year.

LATEST UPDATE:

Following the release of WASSCE results for 2021, the University of Ghana application portal will remain open from today, December 8, 2021, and close on Friday, December 10, 2021.

All applicants who wish to make changes to information on their application should do so before 4:00 pm, December 10, 2021.

The University of Ghana announces for the information of the general public that applications are open for the admission of prospective applicants into various undergraduate programs for the 2021/2022 academic year. Applicants should take note of the following:

GHANA WASSCE/SSSCE – Minimum/General Entry

Requirements General Entry Requirements into Legon Campus, Accra City Campus and Korle Bu Campus.

An applicant for admission to a degree programme in the University of Ghana must have at least credits (A1 – C6 in WASSCE and A – D in SSSCE) in English, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science (for Science related programmes) or Social Studies (for non-Science related programmes) and three elective subjects in Science for applicants applying to Science or Agriculture related disciplines or three elective subjects in General Arts/Business for applicants applying to non-Science related disciplines, with the total aggregate not exceeding 24. In addition, Science applicants should have at least a grade C6 in WASSCE/D in SSSCE in Social Studies/Life Skills and non-Science applicants should also have at least a grade C6 in WASSCE/D IN SSSCE in Integrated Science/Core Science.

1. GHANAIAN APPLICANTS

University of Ghana online application E-VOUCHERS can be obtained by Ghanaian applicants for GH¢200.00 via USSD Payment or at the following banks: Access Bank, Ecobank, Republic Bank, Agricultural Development Bank, Ghana Commercial Bank, Zenith Bank, Universal Merchant Bank, Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG), Prudential Bank and Fidelity Bank. Ghanaian applicants in the following categories are expected to apply using the E-VOUCHER:

WASSSCE/SSSCE Applicants and Ghanaians with Foreign Background

WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants and Ghanaians who apply with foreign qualifications from schools that write the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the IGCSE such as Alpha Beta, Faith Montessori International School, Ghana International School, New Nation International School, SOS – Hermann GMEINER International College, and Tema International School, etc., should do the following:

At any of the Banks listed above, applicants will be required to indicate their names, mobile phone numbers, and e-mail addresses on the bank voucher before they are served. Those without e-mail addresses will however not be disadvantaged. A confirmation of their Pin will be sent to their mobile phones.

After purchasing the e-voucher, applicants should CAREFULLY follow the instructions given. After the application has been submitted on-line, the Pin should be kept in a safe place as they may be required by applicants when assessing their admission status at a later date.

DIPLOMA/HND TO DEGREE APPLICANTS

After buying the e-voucher, Diploma/HND to Degree applicants are expected to scan and attach the following documents to their online application forms:

  • Diploma/HND transcripts
  • Where applicable, certified copies of ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level certificates/result slips

The pay-in-slips together with applicants’ certificates/result slips should be scanned and attached to the application form before submission online. The certificates/results slips should be scanned into one PDF or WORD document and attached to the application form.

2. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AND GHANAIANS APPLYING FROM ABROAD

International applicants and Ghanaians applying from abroad should NOT buy the e-voucher. They should use the following link to access the online application form for completion and submission.

Online Application for International Undergraduate applicants

All applicants are expected to pay to the University a non-refundable application processing fee of US$110.00.This fee can be paid directly or wire transferred into the University of Ghana ECOBANK Account.

Note that no application will be processed without proof of payment of the fee.
