A terrible accident has happened at Bogoso and many have feared death as Timber logs fell from a trailer and landed on cars and market women.
A huge number of people have been reported and a large may have died at Bogoso, a town in the Prestea Huni Valley municipality in the Western Region when a trailer carrying wood logs lost control.
According to witnesses, the chains holding the timber logs in place broke or went loose at a roundabout which is located near the central market of Bogoso.
Saturdays are often busy at the market, but several vendors left without bringing their wares with them when they ran.
Also, today happens to be a market day at that area so that place was obviously quite crowded with people and cars.
The heavy Logs that went loose fell and damaged vehicles and people around the premises leaving some people in critical condition.
Many lives were saved thanks to the prompt action of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and other emergency agencies.

According to the police investigation and report on the terrible accident, the driver of the Daf truck that was transporting timber logs from the Prestea end of the road to Bogoso lost control of the vehicle while he was attempting to navigate a curve and as a result, the timber logs got loose and fell on the other five cars.
