Ghanaians once again demonstrated their tenacious love for funerals as they honor Sir Bobby Charlton.
They gathered on Monday, 13th November 2023, for a funeral to pay tribute to the late Manchester United legend, Sir Charlton.
The Ghana Supporters Union made the funeral arrangements and the funeral took place at Tesano. A video posted on social media exhibited attendees dressed in mourning attire adorned with images of the late Sir Bobby and banners.
In a poignant ritual, attendees filed past the displayed images. It was a final tribute to the legendary English figure who had passed away.
The demise of Sir Bobby Charlton occurred on Saturday, 21st October 2023, due to complications arising from a fall at the nursing home where he received care.
The revered man breathed his last at the age of 86. He left behind a legacy that goes beyond the football pitch.
The Ghanaian community’s commemoration of Sir Bobby Charlton’s life represents his impact as a legendary footballer who had fans globally.
The people of Ghana have shown the cultural relevance of paying respects, even when they are thousands of miles away from their home continent.
