The Majority Leader, Mr Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, has praised former President John Dramani Mahama for attending President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s presentation of the 2023 State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu applauded the former President’s attendance. According to him, such an act demonstrates a spirit of unity as a people irrespective of political differences.
He also noted that the former President had only attended two of the six events involving the delivery of the message on the State of the Nation by President Akufo-Addo.

He expressed hope that, inspired by the hilarious welcome accorded him by the Minority Group, former President Mahama would attend subsequent events in his capacity as a former President of the Republic.
The State of the Nation Address is a requirement of Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.
The President acknowledged the presence of distinguished personalities, including former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and John Dramani Mahama, among others.
Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu previously lamented the former President’s absence from last year’s event and commended his presence this year.
