Reverend Osei Kofi, one of Ghana’s greatest footballers of all time, features on many all-time greats lists for the Black Stars. He played for Asante Kotoko, where he was a remarkable playmaker and considered a hero among Ghanaian football fans in the 1960s and 1970s. Although he had several offers, he never played for a team outside of Ghana.
Osei Kofi claims that he remained at Kotoko because of his love for the club. During an interview with Asanteman FM, he revealed that he refused offers from European clubs due to his loyalty to Asante Kotoko, despite being leagues ahead of his contemporaries. FIFA named him a “dribbling wizard,” which is a testament to his skills on the field.
