A statement issued by transport operators on Wednesday June 2, 2021 indicated that transport fares would be increased by 13%.
According to the transport operators, the purpose of this latest change is to make it possible for them to deal with the rise in the cost of fuel. The statement issued stated that, the new pricing structure is going to go into effect beginning on Saturday, June 5, 2021. In this effect the general public is entreated to take not of the changes and the date of implementation to avoid any unforeseen consequences.

“In line with the administrative Arrangement on Public Transport cost the Road Transport operators have received the prices of various components that go into, the running of, commercial transport services.
“After long and difficult negotiations with stakeholders, a 13 per cent upward adjustment in public transport cost across all category of services has been agreed upon.”
