Christian Atsu Reportedly found dead after Earthquake

The earthquake that devastated Turkey and Syria 11 days ago has claimed the life of former footballer Christian Atsu, who played for Chelsea, Málaga, Newcastle United, and Hatayspor. His body was found under the rubble, and his agent, Murat Uzunmehmet, confirmed the news on social media. Atsu’s death shocked the sports world. He played 65 games for Ghana and in the 2013/15 African Cups and 2014 World Cup.

Atsu, who was 31 years old, had been playing for Hatayspor in Turkey. Atsu played for Porto and Chelsea for four seasons, and was loaned to Málaga in Spain. He also played in Saudi Arabia before joining Hatayspor, where he scored one goal in three games.
