Blogger Sammy Kay, real name Samuel Dortey Kumah, gets arrested for passing on racy images and falsely implicating a Cyber Security Authority official in the Abena Korkor controversy.
After an inappropriate tape of Abena Korkor buzzed online, she accused two individuals. She included a cybercrime office security official among her suspects.
On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, another similar video surfaced on social media, linked to the mentioned security officer.
Sammy Kay purportedly published these images, connecting them to the said Cyber Security Authority (CSA) official.
The CSA, in a press release, clarified Sammy Kay’s arrest for x-rated material and unlawful use of CSA officials’ images. They disassociated themselves from the adult content, praying the public to disregard the misrepresentation.
Following checks, Sammy Kay removed the image on Instagram and rendered an apology. He accepted the mistake and clarifying that the posted image wasn’t the person in the video going round on Twitter.
The apology stated, “We apologize for any inconvenience caused with the post we made and deeply regret our action.”
On that note, there is the need for media persons to work responsibly to avoid any legal consequences.
