An unemployed young man returns GH₵100K he found in a taxi to Adom FM in a bid to find the owner.
All this started when he took a taxi at the Mobil fuel station in Nima, heading to Abossey Okai. As the ride was ongoing, he stumbled upon a huge sum of money and other belongings, suspecting they belonged to a previous passenger.
Rather than alerting the taxi driver, he assumed responsibility for the items and immediately made his way to the media house and sought for help in locating the rightful owner.
A ton of comments came as people commended his honesty and saw him as an example others should follow.
A section of people even confessed that they might have handled the situation differently had they been in his shoes. Others also prayed authorities to crown his acts of honesty with a befitting reward to embolden the youth in being honest.
Changing the focus, a 20-year-old driver, Samuel Implame, has admitted guilty to a defilement charge, resulting in his conviction.
Police Chief Inspector Joseph Lartey, leading the prosecution, provided case details. The victim, a food vendor, and her mother lived in Nankaba, while Implame resided on Cemetery Road in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality. Continue reading
