22 Perish From Accident Around Kintampo

A tragic accident has left 22 people dead after a bus collided with a trailer truck on the Yendi-Kumasi road. The accident occurred between Kintampo and Babatokuma, resulting in the loss of 17 men, four women, and one child. The bus, with registration number AS 4635-22, was carrying 52 passengers at the time of the crash.

Reports indicate that 21 people lost their lives instantly, while one person died later at the Kintampo Government Hospital. Survivors of the accident are receiving treatment at the same hospital.

The cause of the accident is not yet clear, but some eyewitnesses claim that the driver of the trailer truck was trying to avoid a stationary truck when he swerved into the other lane, leading to the collision with the bus. Investigations into the accident are ongoing to determine the exact cause and any contributing factors.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many expressing their condolences to the families of the deceased. The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Kintampo Government Hospital morgue for identification and autopsy.
