The High Commission of Canada in Ghana seeks to recruit hardworking individuals for the vacancies mentioned below.
The Enlistment:
1. Local Development Advisor
- A master’s degree or higher from a recognised university in one of the following relevant disciplines, development studies, rural development, economics policy, agriculture economics or related field (local governance, political science)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in development work, at least 5 of which must be related to providing advisory services in rural/local development in Ghana.
- Illustrate experience in offering advisory services on local development issues, including coordinating with decentralised governance institutions in programme delivery, preferably with or for bilateral or multilateral development institution
- Knowledge and experience with current government policies, programmes and approaches in agriculture and local economic development and complementarity with donor programming
2. Gender Equality Specialist
- A Master’s Degree or higher from an approved university in one of the following relevant disciplines, international development, agriculture, agribusiness, gender studies, or related subject (agricultural economics, development studies, sociology)
- You must have at least 10 years of practical experience in development work, at least 5 of which must be related to providing advisory services on gender equality and women empowerment.
- Demonstrated experience in providing advisory services on gender equality and relate issue in programme delivery, preferably for bilateral or multilateral institution
- Sound understanding of gender equality issues in Ghana agriculture sector, including decentralized governance structures

3. Public Financial Management (PFM) Specialist
- Must have a master’s degree from a known post-secondary institution in economics, finance, public administration or accounting
• Professional qualification as an economist or certified chartered accountant - Applicants must have a basic working experience of 10 years in the field of public financial management, of which a minimum of 5 years of experience must be in public financial management policy and/or programme delivery preferably in or for a bilateral or multilateral development institution
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Ghana
- Demonstrated experience in working with government/or donors in a technical capacity on a variety of public financial management issues with attention to project planning, budgeting and monitoring, including in government donor coordinate groups
General Requirements:
- Excellent English writing skills
