The Secretariat of the WTO is seeking to fill an intern position in the Compensation & Benefits, Policy and Insurance Section, within the Human Resources Division.
This internship is an opportunity to gain experience in an International Organization, to work in multicultural environment and to learn about modern HR processes and practices. The duration of the internship is for six months.

General Functions:
Working in a small team of three colleagues (the Compensation & Benefits, Policy and Insurance Section), within the Human Resources Division, the intern will have the opportunity to work on the following:
- helping to implement and coordinate a new recognition and rewards Programme which is intended to recognize contributions and reward the performance and achievements of WTO staff members. The programme consists of four different types of awards: Good Colleague Award, Director-General Award, Performance Award and Excellence in Management Award.
This will involve, amongst other things:
- preparing communications, emails and documents, working with data and presentations, maintaining the dedicated Intranet web page, etc.
- communicating with staff members and providing guidance and support on various operational aspects of the recognition and rewards Programme.
- working on other HR projects and processes falling under the responsibility of the team, such as performance management or the WTO medical insurance plan, etc.
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge and skills
We are looking for an intern who is fast learner, dynamic and hands on. Good drafting skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely are necessary for this internship, as well as good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Education
Interns will have completed their Master Degree or in the process of obtaining a Master Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Development, Business Administration, etc.
Languages
Fluent spoken and written English is a must, French and/or Spanish are also desirable.
Eligibility:
- Interns are recruited from among nationals of WTO Member states and Observer governments.
- Interns shall have completed at least one year of their postgraduate studies (for example, Master’s) in a relevant discipline (for example, economics, law, political science, international relations).
- The minimum age for an intern is 21 years and the maximum age 30 years.
- A roster of suitable candidates is maintained from which interns are selected. In addition to the internship programmes, the need may also arise to recruit interns at short notice for specific tasks. These recruits will also be drawn from the roster. Names will be maintained on the roster for one year and no more.
