A South African pastor has been found guilty of raping a 22-year-old man.
Pastor Luthando Matodlana of the God is Love Ministry in Motherwell, Gqeberha, South Africa, was convicted of rape.
In the Motherwell regional court, Magistrate Aubrey Mashigo convicted Matodlana guilty of raping a 22-year-old male in 2013.
Matodlana was arrested after being convicted on Friday, May 20.
In her ruling, Mashigo stated that the National Prosecuting Authority’s team had proven the former Mpuma Kapa TV resident pastor’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Matodlana’s victim, who was 22 at the time of the occurrence, testified in court that they communicated on Mxit shortly after meeting the priest in January 2013.
Between February and March, he alleged, the pastor asked him to his home. Matodlana invited him to his bedroom after they sat in the parlor for a while.
Both guys sat on the bed in the bedroom and exchanged a few words before Matodlana attempted to kiss him.
Matodlana instructed the victim to undress, and his resistance enraged the pastor, according to the victim. He claimed he was terrified by Matodlana, who ordered him to undress, drag him to the bed, compel him to lie face down, and then rape him.
Throughout the trial, Matodlana denied rapping the man.
Matodlana accused his victim of being a gay sex worker who tried to extort money from him throughout the trial.
